Chiropractic is Yvette McPherson’s passion. A passion which took her some time to find! Here is her story.
After completing secondary school Yvette spent a year in Germany as a Rotary Exchange student. During that time she had the good fortune of meeting a number of people who were absolutely passionate about their chosen professions. It was during this year that she decided to turn down her law economics university placement offer and defer tertiary study until she found HER passion.
Over the next few years it became apparent that natural medicine was her field but it wasn’t until she returned to her home town in South Australia and began working with a local Chiropractor that she really knew! She saw miracles! She had found it!
“One of the most exciting days of my life was when I was notified that I had been accepted into the School of Chiropractic and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology” recalls Yvette fondly! “It still to this very day, brings a tear to my eye!”
In 1986 Yvette began the five year journey to become a Chiropractor!
The humanities student successfully completed courses in biophysics, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, embryology, physiology and anatomy. Needless to say she lived for the chiropractic philosophy and technique classes. Yvette graduated from RMIT in 1990 with a large sigh of relief and began practice at Donvale Chiropractic Centre in Melbourne as an associate.
She loved the practice so much she eventually went on to purchase it, where she spent the next 26 years adjusting 3 generations of families. But Melbourne winters eventually got the better of her and after an extremely emotional parting Yvette re-located to the sunnier climes of the Northern Rivers. In May 2017 she commenced practice at Alstonville Chiropractic and Kinesiology Centre after the very sad passing of Shaun Cashman. Like Shaun, Yvette is committed to low force chiropractic techniques – ‘chiropractic without the crack’ is her love.
In her 27th year of practice, Yvette is still as passionate as ever! “I love helping my patients to really understand how wonderful and miraculous their bodies are. I love empowering them to be able to make more informed health decisions and I love seeing the difference chiropractic can make in their lives” says Yvette! “It is very exciting!”
Alstonville Chiropractic and Kinesiology Centre is a family practice and it’s fun! We encourage you to look after the health of your entire family! Yvette is committed to doing whatever it takes to enhance the quality of your health and your family life.
